About Us
Mejuffrou Rak is based in the heart of the Free State, in Bloemfontein.
How we started
Our company was started because the owner had a need for quality shelves that comes with an affordable price tag in her own home, and later realized that there might be other people with that very same need. Handcrafted to perfection, our shelves will introduce style and practicality into your home.
Our Products
Our products are made from locally and responsibly sourced South African Pine wood, stained to match your expectations. We only use solid wood which is not laminated nor veneered. All timbers are hand selected by the owner in order to fulfill our clients’ specific needs.
We at Mejuffrou Rak assure our customers that our shelves will last a lifetime, since it is sturdy and luxurious, adding that longed for style into your home.
Our products are made from locally and responsibly sourced South African Pine wood, which adheres to the South African Bureau of Standards’ requirements. South African Pine wood is a soft, pale yellow wood which is light weight and resists swelling or shrinking.

Hexagon Shelves

Pine trees are the predominant species in the South African forestry industry and can be found largely in Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal provinces in South Africa, as well as in the Eastern Cape, Limpopo and the Western Cape on a smaller scale. South African Pine wood, like many other types of wood, contains knots and other natural blemishes, which adds more character to any product crafted from it.

Our handcrafted products combine style, practicality, and luxury, enhancing any home. They are stain-finished, not laminated or veneered, ensuring superior quality. For areas with high humidity or exposure to natural elements, such as bathrooms, kitchens, or outdoors, an additional sealant can be applied for long-lasting durability.
